Consistency is the key to the construction of World Cat's patented hull design. (a) Premium gelcoat is applied to the proper thicknes and checked during a three-pass process, which ensures a high gloss finish that will last for years in the most extreme weather conditions. (b) Once the gelcoat is viscous, a layer of chopped glass roving and resin is uniformly applied to create the "skin coat". The chopped glass, roving and resin are meticulously rolled out to remove all the air, then checked by the operator to assure proper thickness. Once the skin coat has cured to the proper hardness, the bulk laminates are applied layer by layer to provide strength starting with an 18-ounce tri-axial glass, followed by a layer of 32-ounce tri-axial glass. (c)Composite foam is then added from the 2nd chine up to provide greater rigidity to the hull sides. A final layer of 32-ounce tri-axial glass is applied to the entire boat, (d) followed by three additional layers of 34-ounce tri-axial glass over the complete length of the tunnel. Overlaps throughout the
build process result in six layers of glass at each keel and nine layers - totaling 1/2" of glass down the tunnel. Once bulk laminate is completed, the part is allowed to properly cure in World Cat's state-of-the-art, temperature controlled lamination facility.
